| THE WINERIES |
We currently have three Wineries at different
points of Sanlúcar that together constitute a total area of almost
64,000 m2: Bodega Misericordia, Bodega Pago de Miraflores and Bodega
Pago Sanlúcar Viejo. The winery, where winemaking takes place, is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and is located in the Bodega Pago de Miraflores. This was acquired in 1991 and is situated in the vineyards by the same name, one of the oldest “terroirs” in the area. It is here that we cultivate the grape that is also used to make our white wines Castillo de Miraflores and Pago de Miraflores. It is in this winery also that we store the deposits with a capacity of 5.204.000 litres. In 1993 we acquired the Bodega Pago Sanlúcar Viejo. Here, between 2001 and 2003, we built an extension of 6,000 m2 on two floors – one of which is semi-underground – making it the first winery of these characteristics to be constructed in the Marco de Jerez. This winery currently occupies an area of over 11,000 m2 and houses a total of 14,000 casks, as well as the bottling plant, which has been totally renovated, and French Vosgues casks for the ageing of our fermented white wine Pago de Miraflores. Our bottling plant for Manzanilla
La Guita is unique in the world. It is capable of applying the
“guita” or cord at a speed of 12,000 bottles an hour. This
plant, following much fruitless negotiation with multinational companies,
was designed and manufactured in Catalonia. |
