| THE VINEYARDS |
Our grapes come from vineyards that spread over the smooth hills of the famous Marco de Jerez triangle and, for their high quality, are qualified as “Albariza Superior". Albariza
is the name given to these famous lands that are white in colour
and rich in calcium carbonates, clay and silica and that have a high
capacity to retain moisture, thus, storing the winter rains to sustain
the vines throughout the dry periods. The Albariza provides the best
soil for yielding grapes that are apt for the production of high quality
wines. |
| METICULOUS WORK |
Without a doubt, few vineyards
are as labour-intensive as those associated with D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry
and Manzanilla which are harvested up to twelve times during the first
year of the vineyard plantation. Grape picking is done by hand and care
is taken to ensure that the grapes are quickly transported to the winepress
in the best possible conditions. |
| CLIMATE |
We enjoy a warm meridian climate, significantly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, which provides sea humidity that waters the vineyards with its dew during the early hours of the morning, compensating for the high summer temperatures and hot breezes from the east. The region enjoys high luminosity and almost 300 days of sunny, cloudless skies a year. Rainfall reaches an average of 600 litres/m2, mainly from October to May, providing the soil with the necessary water reserves for the vine during the dry summer months. |
